Troop 212 Reach for the Stars, 8/22/09 merit badge event, Fayetteville, GA
(Troop)

Posted: Jun 18 2009 - 1:49pm

Another merit badge option for August 22. Registration opens on 7/1. Similar size to the Troop 1776 event, and farther away, but they do have both morning and afternoon sessions, so 2 merit badges could potentially be worked on in one day. Again, not coordinated by T69; sign up individually and contact each other for carpooling (this is south of the Atlanta airport). See Chris Dietel for Blue cards prior to the event.

This is a HUGE merit badge event well run by Rodrigo Cano, the founder of www.meritbadge.info (his son was recently in the news for gaining Eagle and earning all 121 merit badges). Signups are not until 8/1/09. They also have at least one Girl Scout badges offered, a bugling contest, and free breakfast donated by Chick-fil-a. Scouts must check-in as a Troop; Troop 69 is not formally organizing this event, so please communicate with others who sign up to carpool and check in together. See ASM Chris Dietel for merit badge Blue Cards prior to the event.

This is a great event. Sign-ups began on June 1st and close on August 18th at www.meritbadge.info. Troop 69 is not organizing a group to go, but individuals can register and please contact any fellow Troop 69 scouts going to coordinate arrival and check in. See ASM Chris Dietel for Blue Cards prior to attending the event.

Thanks to some Troop 69 families reading the E-Blast last week, Troop 69 just made our goal provided by Council: Goal = $4300 (last year's contributions), 2009 Contributions = $4525. However, the District is still at ~80% of their goal, so, if you simply 'forgot' to turn in your pledge card, please give your contributions to Chris Dietel.
