Troop 69 is a very active boy run scout troop comprised of an enthusiastic group of scouts and adults.

We are very proud of our advancement program, where dedicated adults work with scouts at all levels of advancement to help keep them on track to meet their goals.

Our troop offers:

A Boy led troop where members learn to lead in a safe environment

A strong advancement program

At least one outdoor activity each month

Summer camp

A high adventure summer activity for older scouts

Summer Camp 2016

Troop 69 will go to summer camp at Camp Powhatan-Blue Ridge Scout Reservation in Hiawassee, Va. during the week of June 12-18, 2016.

Transportation will be provided by Troop 69 via charter bus.  We will depart on Sunday June 12th and return to the AFUMC Lower Lot on Saturday June 18th.

As you know, we concluded our fall elections for troop leaders at the meeting this past Monday.  The leaders we elected will serve us for the next six months.  Please join me in congratulating the new scout leaders below.

Troop Elections Part 2

We will continue our troop elections this Monday, September 14th, and we will choose scouts to fill the following positions:

  • all Patrol Leaders (including First Year Patrols)
  • Quartermasters (4)
  • Scribes (2)
  • Librarian
  • Historian

We will also be appointing scouts to fill the following positions:

The God & Country Program Organizational Meeting

The God & Country program is a series of age-specific courses designed to help youth pursue a deeper understanding of their faith. This program fulfills the requirements for religious awards earned by Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Camp Fire groups. Enrollment is not limited to Scouts. It is open to any child in grades 1-12. The program at JCUMC is open to any Protestant youth, no matter where he/she goes to church. There are 4 levels in the program:
