As you know there are lots of plans and programs involved with the 2010 Centennial celebration. One of the "special" awards that can be obtained is shown below. It is a 100th anniversary patch with ribbons that can be earned for completing tasks in 5 different areas of Scouting. Scouts do not need to do anything to earn the base patch. The ribbons need to be earned.

Friends of Scouting 2010 - Troop 69 Update THANK YOU!!

Dear Troop 69,

Thank you so much for your contributions to this valuable campaign which will help continue the excellent programs, training, events, summer camps, and all of the other parts and pieces that make the Atlanta Area Council and Milton District such an incredible environment for our Scouts. As Friends of Scouting Chair for this year, I was concerned when I saw that our Troop's contribution goal for 2010 was bumped up from $4200 to $5200, a nearly 25% increase. I don't know if it is the programming you see in our District and Council, or the experiences our Troop 69 brings to our Scouts, or just the difference you see in your own Scout everytime he comes home from a camping trip, but something created an awesome amount of support for this year's Friends of Scouting Campaign. Quite simply, between your pledges and matching corporate donations, we greatly exceeded the higher bar placed on Troop 69 this year. In addition, our Troop was also able to raise much needed funds for Haiti Relief during the Fun Run. Wow!
