Welcome to Troop 69! 

Troop 69 is a very active boy run scout troop comprised of an enthusiastic group of scouts and adults.

We are very proud of our advancement program, where dedicated adults work with scouts at all levels of advancement to help keep them on track to meet their goals.

Our troop offers:

  • A Boy led troop where members learn to lead in a safe environment
  • A strong advancement program
  • At least one outdoor activity each month
  • Summer camp
  • A high adventure summer activity for older scouts

Well done, Popcorn sellers; thanks for turning in your forms, payment and prize selections on Monday night. We’ll be placing your orders right away! They orders will be available for pickup and delivery to your customers on Monday, 11/13. Make sure you mark your calendars to pick up your orders in the ‘cage’ (downstairs from the MYC and in the back). We will not be able to fill any more orders from forms not turned in on Monday, 10/16.

Counselors needed for Merit Badge Clinic

Our Annual Troop Merit Badge Clinic is scheduled for Saturday, January 20, 2018.

If you are interested and available to lead a clinic, please reply to Alia Browning at aliab@bellsouth.net with the name of the Merit Badge you would like to teach.

November Campout (Nov 10-12) is Thanksgiving Campout at Woodruff. Families will be invited to join us for Thanksgiving Feast, all cooked in the outdoors.

Sign-up for the October Campout, backpacking and hiking in the picturesque Nantahala National Forest. Our base camp will be at Standing Indian Campground, which is 12 miles west of Franklin NC. The campground is surrounded by 5,000' peaks and crossed by several natural streams. It sits at an elevation of 3,880 feet at the headwaters of the scenic Nantahala River, amidst lush forests of evergreen trees and rhododendrons. The Standing Indian Basin is a premier hiking destination. The campground provides access to numerous trails, including the world-famous Appalachian Trail.
